Greetings,

I spent months programming the router. It’s working perfect. Testing, QA..everthing.

I have to make 100 units of these…how do I can backup  and create an image I can use to flash? OPENWRT , with Luci, Chaos Calmer

Thank you.

hi @bluewavenet,

I did not explain myself…

If i lost SSH password or disable service, if there is an alternative way to access on system?  through uboot? through serial?

🙂

I have tested this on a GL-MT300A device running LEDE 17.01 and it works fine, inter-operating with an AR150 running original GL-inet firmware modified as above.

@bluewavenet – I suspect your issue with running this on non-AR devices may have been due to limitations of the wifi drivers in earlier versions of OpenWrt.

The wifi drivers for the MT devices have been upgraded in recent times and it certainly works ok now with the LEDE firmware.

Regards
Terry

I do apologize that Gl-Inet was not credited in this article

Was not implying any fault in the failure to give credit: this is common practice in the print media, and nothing you need to apologize for.  The vendor is only incidental to the story — the concept  is what matters here.  The point of posting a link to the article was to highlight the application, because the incumbent monopolies are severely price gouging their customers.  (In many areas the price for internet service is over 10 times what it costs to provide!)

Mesh networks can help to lower prices because people can share or sell data traffic capacity which they are not using.  A mesh also makes it possible for new internet providers to enter the market and offer less expensive service by installing wireless nodes which function as internet gateways.  An efficient, high capacity mesh network is going to need more than just traditional WiFi, but you have to start somewhere.

Don’t back up your configure and install in another router.

Compile your own firmware using the imagebuilder https://github.com/gl-inet/imagebuilder-cc-ramips

You can put all of your configuration in “files” folder so that they are hard coded. Once you made the firmware working you will solve all your headache.

you can access through serial any time.

You can flash the firmware using uboot failsafe: http://www.gl-inet.com/docs/mini/firmware/#debricking-using-uboot

@alzhao, is possible to disable access through serial?

disable this row on initab

#::askconsole:/usr/libexec/login.sh

prevent serial access?

I think you misread the docs: it is a 32Mx16    … (i.e. 64MB a.k.a 64Mx8 ). All seems copacetic from here!

Best of luck…

WISP mode unwanted devices listed in DHCP Clients

I have a GL-AR750 running in WISP mode, connecting to the WiFi network of a hotel I am staying at. I currently see 18 devices listed in the configuration interface (only 2 of them are mine!), listed as DHCP leases. Screenshot attached.

Not entirely sure what is going on and a bit concerned that I am seeing all these random devices as “DHCP Clients”. Can you explain what this is, shouldn’t this device be isolated from the upstream network?

I have tried restricting the listen interface to be LAN only in Luci but that didn’t change anything, I still see rogue devices. Screenshot also attached.

Thanks.

Yikes @ the screenshot!

Note: your firmware is out of date – please update.

With all due respect to the participants trying to make this work, I can make neither head nor tail of the above discussion.

May I ask (with some bluntness):

How should one proceed to make a NAND-image of LEDE for the AR300M as of now?

Hi,

I am looking for a clean image of AR750 and couldn’t find it on firmware page. Is there any plan to release a clean version of LEDE for AR750? Thanks in advance.

How to install CUPS if package is not found?

Hello!

I’ve recently bought a GL-MT300N-V2 router. I haven’t modified the pre-installed firmware, except of upgrading to latest version (v 2.2.6.4).
Now I would like to setup the router in order to use an USB-printer with it. I’ve already found this instruction: https://gl-inet.com/forums/search/install+cups/

But my problem is: CUPS package is not found.
Do I need to flash the existing firmware in order to install CUPS?

Thanks for any hints!

I had similar problems with the E3372 I have a random ebay item as well which had two distinct problems.

before starting ensure that the stick and router are on different IP ranges ( they have the same by default) I set my stick to 192.168.7.*

1. it kept losing connection every few seconds

2. no internet

the first was a power issue, I connected the stick via a powered usb hub (the hub required an additional 5v supply)

the second was a bridging issue, go to ‘Advanced’ mode then ‘interfaces’ select the ‘tethered’ option and then ‘edit’ once in ‘edit’ select ‘physical’ add a check mark to each of the interfaces you want to bridge to for me this was eth1 and wlan. This bridges the 4G stick to both the LAN port and Wifi. Once you have made your selections hit ‘save and apply’ you should now be able to connect via the LAN and wifi.

I can confirm this is a power issue I used a 5v powered hub and that solved the disconnection problem, I then had to manually bridge the interfaces using the ‘advanced’ option.

before starting ensure that your stick and router are on separate ip ranges as they come on the same ones by default. I set the stick to 192.168.7.*

from normal user interface click on advanced, log in, from the top menu select ‘Network’ then ‘Interfaces’ then click ‘edit’ on the ‘Tethering’ section then click on the ‘Physical settings’ tab and put a tick in the box at the top ‘Bridge interfaces’  then in each of the boxes for eth1, eth2 and ‘Wireless network’ (Wlan) this will link the 4G stick to the LAN port and the WiFi

How to Auto switch between 4G and WAN on connection?

$

I have a AR300M and E3372 4G, I would like the 4G connection to switch on and off depending on the WAN port being connected or not. How do I do this?

I have looked in ‘Load balancing’ and under ‘configuration get the following errors

WARNING: some interfaces have no default route in the main routing table!

WARNING: some interfaces are configured incorrectly or not at all in /etc/config/network!

WARNING: some interfaces have no metric configured in /etc/config/network!

I am running the 3.04  firmware. (should I downgrade?)

Also I have set the wifi to 300 but never seem to get more than 144Mbit/s

AR300M, GPIO and PCIE or RESET

$

I have acquired an AR300M and am thinking of using it in IoT applications.

I need access to the serial console, but can use the I2C pads as GPIO. Which gives me 2 IOs.

But when I look at the motherboard (https://www.gl-inet.com/ar300m/#1442566013976-f19448f7-2698), I note that GPIOs 15, 11, 8-3 are not mentioned.

Might they be in any way connected to the “PCIE” connector? If some of them are, that would make the device much more capable, in terms of IOs.

In addition, GPIO13 is connected both to a LED and to a switch. Could that circuitry be clarified)

Thanks in advance
