I have an identical problem with the Huawei E3372 and the gl-ar300m.
In fact exactly similar down to connecting to “3” in the UK, and similar in France.
All the screenshots would be exactly the same too!
Has the problem been solved? And how?

VPN > free is a waste of time. You need to read up about what advantages you get (mainly that your ISP can’t see what you are doing on-line).
Regarding which service, these have been tested by forum users/GL (although I would AVOID hidemyass – a Google search will tell you why).
Try changing your router’s IP from 192.168.8.1 to something else and try again.
I use the GL firmware on the AR200M and have no problems getting to the GUI.
HI, I think I figered it out, the probleme was the Firmware version!
hier how I solved thisout:
– loged in from this first page : from the http://192.168.8.1/cgi-bin/luci
– go to System/ firmeware
– on the bottom there is firmware uplod (NOT setting backup settings)
– apload the openwrt-ar300m-nand-2.263.tar
– then after reboot all comes normal

PS. my problem styl with this late version the OpenVpn is not workin I am VyprVpn client., all is OK with version 2.25 but not with those later firmaware version. any idea there?

I have the same probleme with VyprVpn on the AR300m Router.
however with version 2.25 it was working great. But all other version after the 2.25 no chance to get it working, with the same .zip, .ovpn files and user/pass. I am sure that’s some thing to do with the AR300M firmeware.

Hi I am working with openwrt trunk repository and 1.0.6 pineapple firmware. Recon mode works so far. Tried with files directory from 1.1.3 pineapple firmware but
in this case recon mode doesnt work wlan1 gets named wlan1mon and doesnt work.
Do you know wich repo of openwrt applies to your instruction ?? maybe 15.0.5 or 15.01 ??
I believe https://github.com/domino-team/openwrt-cc described in your instruction has been updated as well in the meanwhile.

A second question about usb hub on gl.inet ar150 with wifi pineapple nano 1.0.6.
I created the binary image with usb support: kmod-usb2 kmod-usb-core and kmod-usb-ohci
lsubs shows ar150 root hub
my usb 2.0 four port hub
and both the usb wifi adapters I plugged into my hub
ifconfig -a shows both wlan0 and wlan0-1 (ar150 antenna) and my two adapters wlan1 and wlan2
but if I try ifup wlan1 or ifup wlan2
the shell replies interface wlan1 not found or interface wlan2 not found .
As far as I understood in openwrt wlan interfaces should not go in /etc/config/network and config directory doesnt have the wireless file anymore
the system should scan for them and load them at start up. Am I wrong ?? What I am missing here too ???

By flat, I mean like the older 6416 which you now seem to have discontinued sadly.
I used those because I could put a label on each unit. The curved units don’t stack well and stickers, labels all end up with crumpled ends.
Why are you making them curved anyhow? Any chance you’ll go back to flat surface again?

or is essential to filter traffic through a VPN?
When you flash the clean firmware, then it is clean!
You will need to access 192.168.1.1 to use the router.
For vpn, I will test again for VyprVpn

We have already published our GPL code. For the UI, it is open source but it not GPL. I.E. The UI is copyright protected.
We had a guide to install an older version of owncloud, but the performance is not good.

The middle LED should have name lan or wan, not sure, you need to try

If I use iptables or firewall to setup up two different zones (wifi and lan) what happens to DHCP? Do the two different zones have different subnets? Does that mean I have 2 dhcp instances?

I am aware that the new routers are curved which is why I am asking since we are now having a hard time finding the older units which had flat cases.
Flat is much more useful than curved for many reasons when using multiples of these. Labels affix better, stacking units works etc.
The GL-AR750 is not an option at twice the price as most of your other devices.
