HI,alzhaok’n

Hi Tom,

That’s not helping. I did that before I tried the install. Sorry, should’ve mentioned that.
Also in the web client, the package is not listed. I’m surprised about this.. what can it be?

Might be way off here, but isn’t this the problem (previously discussed in the forum) of an IP conflict (both modem and router trying to allocate 192,168,8,x?
Apologies if I’m talking nonsense.

Glitch.

Problem connecting to VPN with MT300n-v2

Hi,

I’m trying to setup Mullvad VPN on MT300n-v2 but Mullvad does not have ovpn files to download.

They have Mullvad config files to set up on linux, these are:

mullvad_ca.crt

mullvad_crl.pem

mullvad_nl.conf

mullvad_userpass.txt

update-resolv-conf

I have looked at these in notepad and they seem to contain most of the information that is in a general ovpn file for other VPN’s.

I don’t have a template for what works for a ovpn file for the MT300.

Could alzhao or someone help me create a ovpn file, or would I be better asking Mullvad to create one?

Or

Is there a way to manually add all the VPN details into the router without using a ovpn file?

The minidlna doesn’t seem to be in the Packages.gz

You could try and wget all dependencies and install.  Not sure if it will work

Might need gl-inet help to fix.

I tried this:
root@luigi:/tmp# wget http://www.gl-inet.com/lede/ar71xx/2.263/packages/packages/minidlna_1.1.5-2_mips_24kc.ipk
Downloading ‘http://www.gl-inet.com/lede/ar71xx/2.263/packages/packages/minidlna_1.1.5-2_mips_24kc.ipk’
Connecting to 52.68.43.214:80

Writing to ‘minidlna_1.1.5-2_mips_24kc.ipk’

minidlna_1.1.5-2_mip 100% |*******************************|   104k  0:00:00 ETA

root@luigi:/tmp# opkg install minidlna_1.1.5-2_mips_24kc.ipk

Installing minidlna (1.1.5-2) to root..

I am not an expert to us. But if you send me all your info I can try.

I assume that the best way is to ask Mullvad to provide a Linux ovpn file. This is what they should do.

@tomsmith842, I assume that this is a bug that was introduced in LEDE opkg.

Hope to fix this later.

Yes, that is the problem.

Change the LAN Ip of the mini router to 192.168.9.1 or some thing else to avoid conflict with 8.1

AR300M16的Nor固件跟AR300M是一样的。

不知道LEDE会不会支持呢,不是专利,是技术吧。

固件我们会持续更新至少一年。

AR300M16在LEDE上面已经有,就是AR300M的nor固件。

For second question, from: https://github.com/nodogsplash/nodogsplash/wiki/FAQ

Why does NDS not work when there is no Internet? (..and how to fix it)

Your Browser first needs to resolve to some IP address (via DNS) to make the actual HTTP request that can be intercepted by NDS. A solution is to run a DNS server along with NDS that returns a fake IP address when no Internet is present. For dnsmasq (e.g. on OpenWrt), you can use the address=/#/1.2.3.4/ setting in /etc/dnsmasq.conf, or use a dedicated solution.

I couldn’t quite get it working, maybe BlueW can answer better…

For First question

Yep, you need to edit the /etc/nodogsplash/htdocs/splash.html file.

You can find an example here:

http://nodogsplash.readthedocs.io/en/latest/authentication.html

You put in whatever authentication you want in that file.

Here is a nice example

https://medium.com/@ductn/wifi-marketing-add87083644b

Add something like this to /etc/config/nodogsplash

PasswordAuthentication yes

UsernameAuthentication yes

Password nodog

Username guest

PasswordAttempts 10

It didn’t quite work for me, it allows any username and password

To view your splash page for testing use this link:

http://192.168.1.1:2050

(Change IP to your router if needed)

Ok, I got it working

The password stuff was in old format, so I uncommented this line

option config ‘/etc/nodogsplash/nodogsplash.conf’

in /etc/config/nodogsplash

and added a /etc/nodogsplash/nodogsplash.conf with the password stuff

Not sure if that means it ignores the other stuff in /etc/config/nodogsplash

You might want to comment out the blocks of 192.168.0.0/16 and 10.0.0.0/8 if you want users to be able access any local IPs in those ranges

remove the .txt from file name

best way to connect and create my own net

$

hello to everyone!
I’m not very expert about connections, so please help me 🙂 and sorry for my sufficient english

I explain my situation : I work sharing an office, where is available a simple commercial router to sharing internet .

To use internet I can connect to router by lan or by wifi

wifi signal is for users (like me), but also for external customers. It is without protection (there is no way to add a password) and always available (also when office is closed to the pubblic) . signal is strong enough to be use from street and by neighbours. The owner doesn’t care about it.
Inside router, it is setted with “AP Isolation” (so theoretically no one can see who is connected) .

the question is :

I will use continuously and intensively internet with many devices, so I need to create my own separated and safe wireless net inside the main net. I bought AR300M (with external antennas).

How avoid (if is possible) that someone (users like me or external customers) sniffing my traffic or snooping in my own devices?

how connect ar300M to the main router?  lan or unprotected wifi ?

what are the best settings for ar300M?

Hi,

I got everything to work. The only thing is that darn internet connection. Without it, it won’t work.

Looking into the solution you posted.

Hi, thank you both for your replay.

I changed the IP adress from the router to 192.168.9.1 but it dosn’t solve the problem.

I can see the eth2 only sometime for a few seconds.

Has anyone one more idea?

thank you

Matthias

See:

https://github.com/nodogsplash/nodogsplash/issues/154

“It is easy to make an offline captive web site, for use in a museum for example. All you have to do is add the line:
address=/#/[ip address of your museum tour webserver]
to the config of dnsmasq.
This however will stop any access to the Internet.”

Note: Sitewide username and password authentication is no longer supported in NoDogSplash (late v1 and v2). This has been replaced with Forwarding Authentication Service allowing you to build whatever type of authentication you may require in php:

https://github.com/nodogsplash/nodogsplash/tree/master/forward_authentication_service

Hi there,

I thought it’s a good idea to document the solution for other users with the same problem.

I do have an MT300n-V2 as well, but I guess it will work for other GL Inet products as well.

I had a chat with the Mullvad support facing the same problem, and they replied fast and with a solution to the problem.

All you have to do is go to https://mullvad.net/download/config/ choose Android as your Platform, ignore the instructions on the right side as they seem to be for Android mobile phone/tablet devices.

Enter your Mullvad Account number, and you can leave the Standard Port selection or pick a  Port of your choice and then download the Android configuration which is a single .ovpn file that for the MT300N-V2 is compatible as is.

Just upload it via the Router UI and enter your Mullvad Account Number for username and “m” for the password when you are asked for it. The rest is self-explanatory, pick the options/config you want in the Router UI and press connect.

Since both, GL Inet products and Mullvad seems to be a popular option for many users I suggested Mullvad get in touch with GL Inet so you can add the process to your documentation and list of compatible VPN providers and Mullvad can add some instructions specific to GL Inet products to their website.

Hope I could help.

Thanks for providing a great product.
